Hello guys, this is the thread for my Desert Eagle | Extinction, a skin in the 70-80 sci-fi contest. My idea is a neon-polygrid-dinosaur (a t-rex) shooting laser beams out of its eyes. Enjoy!
I decided to participate in the contest a while ago,
but it took me some time to get something finished. I originally intended my
illustration for the AWP, but I decided that the desert eagle would display my
work in a more interesting way (by making it a bigger and more important part
of the whole model).
I started by outlining the dinosaur, and applyed the pattern later. I did some
adjustments during the prosess, to make sure the dinosaur felt
"alive". I decided to display the outline in 2d, but use the pattern
to show the shape of the T-rex.
I applied the illustration to the gun and colored it, using a
3d-template.
The result: http://imgur.com/e3MieDi I chose phongexponent and phongintensity to "70" and "80", as an easter-egg refering to the theme of this competition ;-)
