Abandoned Mansion Personal Project

Hey guys, i decided to start putting more consistent work into my Maya modeling. I've decided to do the exterior of an abandoned mansion. I have attempted this before in a class project so I wanted to give it another go. I'm thinking Victorian era but I will definitely be adding my own personal touch. Ill post back soon with an update. Please give me your comments and critiques.

So here is my mood-board so far. I like the large staircase up to the front door, as well as the balcony above the front door. Let me know what you think.

I did a quick block-out. I'm not sure i like this shape/style, its a little too symmetrical. I'm gonna try a few more till I get one i like.

Another update! I started another blockout. This one is alot closer to what I had in mind. Its very similar to the picture in the top left of the mood board. I like the second floor balconies and the high towers. Please let me know what you think!

Small update today. May have more time to work on it later tonight. Im starting to like the overall shape. I think the silhouette is also starting to become more interesting. All comments and critiques welcome.

Hey forum, I have a small update for you. The feel of my scene is starting to come together a little better. I added a plane to serve as the terrain and a rough blockout for both a tree and a fence piece. The tree is going to be a unique tree that will serve as a major focal point of my scene. I'm picturing it with long tendrils similar to a weeping willow. I also made a mood-board for my main gate. I will most likely create the rough geometry and transfer it over to Zbrush for detailing. I'm considering redoing the geometry for my house. The scale is a little off and the main part of my house is all one piece, which will make UVing it tough. I think the next step will be adding in placeholder materialsto my scene. I cant decide if I want to do a metal fence or a stone wall, what do ya'll think? I plan to do the materials in substance designer and texturing my unique pieces in painter. Please leave me all your comments and critiques as they will help guide my scene.

Sup forum, here with another update. I started on the front gate and updated the tree, as well as added textures to the gate and ground. The ground texture looks too large because i'm tiling the texture in unity. As always let me hear your comments! they would be much appreciated!

Don't have much critique right now! But nice progress! Having reference next to your progress shot is really useful. Shows us your thought process.

Thank you for your response! That's a good point, Ill start adding it to my posts. I find myself wanting to finish the gate more and more. I might try and get it completed before I move on. As always your comments and critiques are appreciated.
