Hey guys!
I started a new project based on a boardgame that I love called Mice & Mystics. I will be modeling one (or more than one, so I can make a nice little scene with many characters) of the heroes of this game.
So basically the game's idea was that a prince and his compagnons got transformed into mice and they have to face dangers that are very new to their mice condition. Rats, Spiders and roaches, once harmless, are now deadly enemies, as well as the world around them that seems gigantic now.
Here's my reference, which is the artwork used in the game. I'll be checking mice references as well so the anatomy doesn't get too messed up.
For the visual style I was thinking of something blizzard like for it is something I've never really done and I want to try it out! (Or maybe Darkest Dungeon like?
jk please don't hit me)
Soooooo I started working on a basemesh in Zbrush and here's my progress so far on zbrush
I'll be updating this topic the more I work on it.
Any C&C are welcome! Cheers

Worked on the little fella today! Here's where I'm at:
I noticed today that on my basemesh the head was too small for the rest of the body so I scaled it up a bit. Started working on the shapes of the body and made basemeshes for the armor and the belt.
I'm thinking about shrinking his neck a little bit, and puff up his arms and make them less "human". Still having a hard time with the legs tho but I'll get to it in time.
Until next time (probably tomorrow)!
Fun project and nice start.
Here is a paint over to better explain what I think:
Basically you need to stylize more the proportions of the mouse. I may have exagerated a bit on this paintover but that's the spirit.
Also, a Heroes of the Storm style would be nice on this one imo.
Hope it helps
Cheers
This is what it looks like atm
Made it bulkier, bigger head, smaller arms, reworked the feet a little and added the tail.
It's much better and cuter that way!
Will continue working on it tomorrow!
And here's today's progress!
Did the sculpting of the fur on most of the body and tomorrow I'll do the head. (aaaaand I just noticed the hand need a little bit more on the wrists...)
Continued working on the fur, mainly on the head/neck areas. Still needs tweaking I guess, but hey, here's were I'm at!
(This mouse is buffer than me )
Low poly is done and I imported it in substance to try the baking and put basic colors on it
Tomorrow I'll start working on the textures! Cheers
Small update!
I ditched the metallic stuff on the sides, gonna get back to them later on, and started working on the armor's details. I also changed the fur shader, should be better now.
(Also I'm a vertex now apparently. What.)
thanks to gravity's awesome feedbacks, I tweaked the models' levels to make it brighter and added a gradient on the character. Also reworked some little things, like the medallion, the belt thingies are bigger etc.
Next I'm gonna focus on putting medium details on the leathery and metallic parts, paint the eyes and finish with the sword!
Cheers!
Made some little changes to the mouse, added medium details on the armor, metal, cape etc. Added a torn alpha on the cape and painted the sword. I think I'm gonna do a retake on it 'cos I'm not entirely happy with the result. Anyway, here's my latest work:
As always, any C&C are appreciated, keep'em coming!
cheers guys
Texturing is its final stage, some tweaks to do but here it is!
I've also done the rigging and the skinning tonight
Tomorrow I'll make the final changes, the posing, and the other stuff
cheers!
But while I was away, I managed to finish Colin and here's the final result on sketchfab:
model
After I was done with the rigging I posed it and made a little environment to put it in.
I've put some images on my Artstation if you would like to check.
Thanks for all your feedbacks, they really helped a lot and all in all I really had a blast creating this little fellah Cheers guys!
