Hey saw this on the waywo, its a cool gun though you might want to consider tweaking some of the presentation.
The first image, I at first thought the middle of the gun was missing because its the same colour/value as the background. And I have to squint to see your name/link. So just be careful of your values ^^.
First Image? Really? Could you mark it in PS please where it is hard to see? Never had that problem. Could someone else check please? I work with an Eizo monitor, a cheap one, a HDTV and checked it on my mobile phone and everything looks fine value - wise.

I think you have eye problems or your monitor calibration is messing with the image, honestly. I don't have this problem at all.
looking great! is it all sub-d modeling? few problems with the design. how does one releases the mag? I can see some sort of mechanism on the concept but not on your model. I also think the design of the action handle piece (w/e you call that in English) is bit weird. why would you want to fold it? or be able to fold in first place? you're just putting a weak point in the part, what if the locking mechanism gets weak and break? It's one of the most crucial parts in a gun to operate. it needs to be sturdy, visible and easily accessible. it also doesn't seem to be matching the reference
really nice model, aside from one huge design flaw - the ejecting brass would literally hit you in the cheek, hard
It was designed to be fully ambidextrous. The bolt head can be switched out so it ejects on the other side. The ejection port of the side that isn't used can be blocked off with an ejection port cover.
Glad my monitor is fine : ) As always, I use Max for modeling and it´s good old subdivision modeling. About that charging handle: google says there are many of them and already in use and since this is a fictional rifle anyway, I thought a nice foldable one that doesn`t kill the silhouette would be fine.
edit: Are the images working for you guys? They are not showimg up anymore on my end.
