Want to study 3D modelling!

Hi, my name is Carlos and I'm a Spanish student, currently at college. 
So I'm writting this post to see if I can get some help on how to get to the 3D modelling world. I dont know what to do next, after my college. I would like to have a degree and I have thought of an informatic or software engineer, but I don't know if that's going to be useful enough. I can also teach myself if needed, so I could do my engineer while teaching myself the basics of 3D modelling. Well, please let me hear your advices, I need them!

Hi and thank you for the advice.
There's also a degree that I forgot to mention. It's a videogame development degree, but I just dont feel like doing it because it may touch a lot of things but it doesn't get really deep in any of them and I just would like to focus more on 3D art. I also wanted to ask, do I need to be really skilled at 2D drawing?

2d skills would help, but it's not required.

Yeah, I think 3D is my passion, tho I havent started yet, but It's what I really want to do. 
I think I'm doing the software engineering degree then!

And do you know a site where I can learn the basics for 2D drawing? Because if it helped, I would like to , at least, give it a try. Ty for answering!
