The greyhound seems to miss detail, what quality are you aiming for? Since you are new to this consider watching tutorials on vehicle modelling and high poly modeling.
-I am not going to make it high poly because I am making it for cities skylines. I do admit that I didn't make that clear.
-I don't understand your second question, could explain it a bit more.
-I have been moddeling 3 to 4 years now. I started in Blender but moved to maya since my school uses maya. (the study is game artist, to clarify it a bit.)
ZIO
I want it to be low poly because city skylines is not going to run insane detailed models. just like in RTS your models must be simple because you will have loads of them. and when the are high poly with a bunch of maps, it will be insanely hard for every PC to run.
I hope this was helpfull. Sorry for my somewhat late response and my noobness in this WIP tread.
For the exercise that school has given me I have to make a car in the 70's style. So here is some Reference I got with notes, a sketch of my car & my first model
The car is for Cities skylines. The high poly models can only have 500 - 1000 Tris. So that's why. And I even have to make a lower poly version of this one, because when you zoom out the model get downgraded, since it is not necessary to view a highpoly car from such a great distance.
I hope this made it clear. (My english sucks, sorry)
Best Humans, I am back with another update. This one is a wrap it up. so here it is.
I made a sketch over the AWP weapon to see wht I like. (The stands won't be blue. so yeah.)
Here is a shot in maya.
ALSO a little update on the car I made for Cities Skylines.
The game gives the car color, So I only had to make an colour ID map. So that the windows, wheels ect. don't turn Red or green. Let me know what you think of it. If you want to see the Texture maps, just ask!

Yeah it still looks really simple and saturated. I'm working on that.
Let me know what you think.

I am back again with a side exercise.
Texturing a weapon for CS:GO in the 70's & 80's scifi style.
And I choose the AWP.
I gathered some Reference.
Here it is.
I still have to eliminate what aspects from the reference I will put on the AWP and what not.
