Can't figure out why maya is rendering the wings so weird. Maybe they're not straight enough?

A few years ago I worked on a collab with someone that we never finished. I found it the other day and started re-working it, but I want to throw it out there to fix foundational issues before getting too far into it.

Painting so Far:

I'm working on getting a lot more hard brush strokes and better edge transition. Gotta do a lot more research on waves too.

A little bit of progress on some details... I think I'm avoiding the waves... XD Damn procrastination. Also that hand was really bothering me. There's still something off about it. Rrrr!
