This is my entry for the 70s and 80s sci-fi skin contest!

I wanted to create something different and original with this idea. I wanted to combine machine with chicken and then add some lasers, because why not? I noticed there are only a handful of painted designs and really wanted to capture the soft 70s and 80s style sci-fi painting style used a lot for conceptual drawings. The following images are the progression I currently have completed. It's taking a bit longer than I have expected mainly because this is my first time actually digitally painting a skin, whereas before, I had designed simpler skins.

Here's some continued progress...which has been slow due to finishing up finals and such. There's a lot of work to be done...still not entirely sure how I feel about it.

so, yes. i was really going for the "wacky" 70s-80s scifi and not the seriousness ones. plus chickens have a dear place in the CSGO community...so cyborg rooster with lasers...i figured why not.

started on the background, and added a leg, finally. tweaked the placement of the tail feathers, need to touch it up some more. Any thoughts are welcome! please let me know if you think anything looks strange/out of place, etc.

continued work on the wing, added some light reflections from the laser. Not sure if its too much or not though. need to work on adding the other leg and then begin touching up everything.
