CSCOMIC IS NOW ON THE WORKSHOP!
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=692813603Hey guys this is my second entry WIP thread for another variable skin, but this time on the higher tier AWP.
The 70's and 80's were a strong time for sci fi comics - one that is still running today from 1977 is 2000AD (Judge Dredd, Tharg the Mighty ect). Here is a style sheet I will be using for tone and drawing style reference.
(If only comics still cost only 12p!)
My Idea for this skin is a variable 70's sci fi comic book cover skin, based around the CS factions (which I will of course be making from scratch), along similar lines to the Boom and Kami skins. The first step, which is sketching out the general Ideas for each cover (I did some experimentation and found that 6 covers at 2 pattern scale should be about right) I have almost finished this, just need to come up with something for the last panel.
Fingers crossed this will be a fun (and interactive!) variable AWP drop, though I foresee hours of messing around in workbench and i'm not sure yet what exact level of detail I can go too (Though with only 2 weeks left in the competition need to get on with it).
Next update tomorrow!

Had quite a lot of time to work on this today, not 100% happy yet but here's progress on 2 of the panels!
ALSO @EmkaStudios @STOP @K_A_S_I @RobStites thanks for your words and support! (and Moss that made me smile)
More Monday/Tuesday!

But seems like you handle it maybe better, those covers are cool.
I do have the sinking feeling that its going to be difficult to get this all to work on the gun, though it was never the intention to be able to see the full detail of any of the covers - its a comic book cover wrap, just with original comic book concepts. Fingers crossed its all good; if, worst case scenario, I cant make it look good at all a friend suggested I divvy up the assets and make a comic themed sticker bomb wrap instead which seems like a fair plan but I will cross that bridge when I come to it!
Those are great! You should do it!
I found out earlier today when testing the pattern on the awp that the awp resolution is quite low quality, and this does detract from my fairly detailed design, but there is quite literally nothing I can do about this so pressing on - for time is of the essence - I have spent a long time fiddling in workbench to make sure the variables are mostly pretty good, now just working on the presentation shots. I have also decided to use the pattern on a few other guns in the contest (good thing about the variable pattern I am not committed to and one gun, plus other guns have a better res than the awp)
