PC-CSGO | Re-Agent (WIP Thread) AWP + MP9

There are some great CSGO skins out there like the Hyper-Beast, I find them the most aesthetically pleasing because of the way the intricate custom paint job informs and exaggerates the silhouette of the weaponry.
70's/80's scifi is a great theme for a weapon skin and my first response was to dig into the cult movies and books of the 80's scifi scene rather than go for the epic space sagas like Star Wars. There were some fantastic scifi cult movies from the 80's so I compiled a short list of my favourite:
- Re-Animator
- Brazil
- Videodrome
- The Fly
What is most noticeable about 80's cult scifi movies of the Cronenberg/Gilliam ilk is that they often invoke the concept of mad scientists 'playing God', exploring the disastrous and grotesque consequences that ensue. Fundamentally these movies explore the interface between science and the body, and the various associated fears that people experience thereof. These cult scifi movies have their heart in the fiction of older writers such as Lovecraft, Kafka and Shelley.
With that in mind I created a quick moodboard to shape the aesthetic that I am leaning towards.
I like the idea of a mass of living tissue being unceremoniously prodded and injected by instruments of science just to see what happens to it. To that end, I am provisionally calling my CSGO skin "The Re-Agent"--imagining a chemical formula injected into living tissue to turn it into a twisting, animated, torturous mass of flesh. Delicious.
To keep the theme sensible for a CSGO weapon skin I will lean towards the cartoonish style seen in other skins like Hyper-Beast--detailed but cartoonish with thick lines and lots of colour. I might lean towards an almost biomechanical design, with Videodrome in mind.
The skin I've described is a complex job that would fit a higher-tier weapon skin like the AK or the AWP. I will also try making a more mundane, tiling-pattern version of this skin for the MP9.
