Hi guys,
I figured I'd start a new challenge thread since the other one has been going a while now, feel free to keep going with that one but I thought it'd be good for those that aren't to have something new to work on.
I was thinking we could do a character intro shot like those in Overwatch (Skip to 20:07)
https://youtu.be/ZmLkVtqjf1A?t=20m7sTry and bring across the characters personality in a few seconds, whether that is calm and cool or a high flying ninja. It could be a walk-in shot like in Street Fighter / Mortal Kombat, a victory shot, an intro shot or anything else that can bring across a character's personality and traits in just a few seconds. Try not to make it too long!

Here is a tiny exploration for the idea I have in mind. Not the final pose but I plan to be similar. I will animate this challenge straight ahead since I will be doing a traveling for the character from a spawn to the "attack" the camera and I just want to feel it :P.
ugh I thought people would be more into this
oh well.. I did this one just now inbetween a overwatch session (going back after clicking post reply!)
it's a bit on the short side, thinking of adding a female character that leans on him kinda sexy like..
think the left hand needs to not follow the gun up but rather wait for it to come down and catch it

Looking great, man! The lead in to that swing is feeling nice. Nice smears too. Really want to give that a shot after seeing some of the Overwatch pipeline. Only done 'em in 2D previously.
Sure you've probably got some love planned for the beginning, but some drift on the sword and his left arm/fingers might help the pose feel more natural. Also, a minor one, but I might consider giving the ending pose for his off-hand some energy. Even if it's just rotating the hand up a bit, or giving the fingers some tension. It just feels so relaxed the high impact motion leading into it.
Looking good @JamesGammans. I think it would help if the camera moved slightly as he raises his arm as nothing seems to happen until about half a second later. The smear frames are great though!
I'll get back onto mine as soon as my overwatch addiction dies down a little
Definitely on the same boat as you guys. I've been playing sooo much Overwatch..
The shoulder armor is a bit troublesome and I will animate it without it for now and then I will see if I add it later.
Looking so good James! maybe If I have the time I will make a template on AE and share it to add that "play of the game" LOL

My 2 cents, looking forward to seeing more!
I don't suppose you (or anyone else) know of any online resources for environments like those you mentioned?

What do you think about it guys?
