The copy on the MARI Non-commercial web page says "..Here are the most important limitations of using the non-commercial version.." - see below. MARI Non-commercial was built from the MARI indie code and has the same restrictions, with the exception of the EULA agreement (non-commercial vs. commercial) and the inability to share your MARI indie files with other indie users. You can find the full list of MARI Non-commercial restrictions on page 33 of the Getting Started Guide here.
From MARI Non-commercial web page: MARI Non-commercial has some license restrictions you need to know about. There are also a few feature differences between commercial and non-commercial versions of MARI. Here are the most important limitations of using the non-commercial versions:
Export texture resolution size is limited to 4K and 16-bit color per channel. Export formats are limited to .psd, .png, .tga, .jpg and .jpeg. Python scripting is disabled. There is a limit of six UV texture patches per object, but unlimited channels and layers. You can work with a maximum of five objects at once.
Happy to answer any other questions you may have, Rachel
@Greg_Brown so do the ones which have bought MARI indie 3.0 get allowed to use Python scripting now or other limitations lifted? right now it seems like Non-commercial is a way better option.
