step 2: change the UV skin to white for easy selection.
note: still cant figure out how to post a picture without a URL. i save my images to my desktop only, not an outside web source. so i dont know how to easily post a photo without taking a cheesey screen shot with gyazo -.-
step 3 was the longest part of my skin process. i used Photoshop tools to create multiple layered images full of color. my intention was to mimic Timascus (titanium damascus). ive placed words covering my photo, because in other digital design competitions ive joined people have stollen others work to use on their own projects. i think my method for making these designs are pretty unique and difficult, so i plan to keep them secret as long as possible.
Step 4: was a really easy step. i used the basic AK-47 skin the game provides, to select the wood and grip areas. i darkened the pieces by converting the photos to grayscale, then using photoshops "brightness and contrast" tools. after that was complete i dragged and dropped the needed areas onto my custom design.
drag and drop isnt working for me. ive tried drag and drop, opening the picture in chrome to save the URL, and just posting the ghetto gyazo link. not sure why im still unable to post photos directly..
this gun has taken a lot of effort to create. but i feel the colors of the metal, how it wears, the psychodelic feel, and every little detail helps relate the gun to a 70-80s sci-fi theme. aliens and UFO's were on the rage back in the day, so this fancy piece of work could be one of their blasters, or a human creation using some of the alien technology itself.
thanks to the GunFinish this weapon is able to wear down and patina into a beautiful set of colors, rather than lose its color by chipping away paints.
@Eric Chadwick Thank you so much for your help getting these photos uploaded! besides my link to the workshop, is this WIP missing crucial details to be entered in the project?

Sorry I don't have the time to check. Read the rules and see!
