These are the renders I created for the end of my second year at uni. Looking for some critique on my work. Some of these materials are to be used for an end of year show hence the writing etc....The project itself was completed over 4 months using Maya, Quixel Suite and marmoset. Any comments or critiques are appreciated as always, Thank you.
The renders and environments are pretty cool, but im finding the characters to be pretty lackluster in comparison. As well as on the dirt/ground render that sharp edge facing the camera highly distracting, what made you decide to crease it there?
This is WAY too highrez You did no optimisation to the meshes and they are definitly zremesher mesh used straight out of zbrush wich is definitly a big no no (IMO!) especially on characters. Most of your meshes are pretty simple surfaces that do not require that amount of topology at all. A higher mesh density is supposed to be use to keep the silhouette smooth while yours is used evenly over the whole surface without it being necessary in anyway.
