Getting started by figuring out the layout. How is one supposed to texture the front of the magazine though? Update: Apparently one is not supposed to texture the front of the magazine...
Implemented the receiver paint and put some temporary neon lines around it (I will change all the outlines simultaneously when i've got them all laid out):
Gave it an overall black paint coat which I will perhaps be moderating later on and gave the stock, handle, magazine etc. the neon outlines (which I still am planning on changing somehow, it having a bit too much pink on it). I also gave the magazine a cool looking detail with the fading out kind of things. I'm also still planning on filling the plank spaces with something (probably the maze texture which I had in the plan).
"Unpainted" some metal parts like the barrel, made the outlines a lot more like neon-lights and shadowed the outskirts of the receiver's image, began working on the maze texture which will be applied to the wooden parts too. Also went back to "Neon Maze".
Put more of the maze texture up and chose the phong values. Skin is now basically ready excluding some minor tweaking... Also changed the name to be "Laser Maze" as it sound a bit more like something out of a 80's cliche sci-fi flick.
