PC - CS:GO | M4A4 | Parallax ~ FINISHED!

Design Thoughts:

I'm going for a slightly more subtle, still vibrant type of skin. The primary 80's influences come in the form of neon accents and a Cyan/Magenta/Green color palette. I'm currently looking for a way to fit the theme a bit better without going overboard.

Design Influences:

The shape of the accents were inspired by the title font here. Link: http://s32.postimg.org/97lhefrsz/Hardwire_book_cover_optimized_X1.jpg

This was a color palette inspiration. Link: http://s32.postimg.org/q6jtyi8zn/tumblr_lsxdulrxbn1qdnejuo1_1280.jpg

This one should be pretty obvious... Where do you think the blue accents came from? ;) Link: http://cdn2-b.examiner.com/sites/default/files/styles/image_content_width/hash/27/06/tron_28.jpg?itok=FlPDBNpq

Design Direction:

Day 1:

  • Rough out stellar pattern.
  • Add planetary body.
  • Accent using neon colors.

Day 2:

  • Flesh out accents. Got a few accents done, but not much real progress.
  • Possibly add another planetary bodyDidn't get around to it today.
  • Possibly add 80's grid pattern ( will cite inspirations after some research).
Possibly throwing this idea out, there are several grid inspired skins so far.
  • Possible Quick Release? Stay tuned! It's not done just yet.

Day 3:

  • Add a more distinct design/pattern to the stock. Incomplete
  • Extend space scene to the forward grips. Completed
  • Look for something to link the skin closer to the sci-fi of the day. Somewhat complete? Unsure yet.

They're showing up fine for me... I'll post links for those that it doesn't work for. Thanks for letting me know!
    EDIT: Links are now included!

Day 2 Update! (Images and links in OP)
Didn't get much actual work done, other than a few accents. Today was mostly a planning and research day.
On the bright side, I made the image links into actual links since I forgot to do that the first time around

    Change Notes:
    • Added accents to muzzle break
    • Extended space scenery towards the magazine.
    • Added neon accent to the narrow part of the stock.
    Design Thoughts:
So far, I'm unsure where to go with this skin. I feel like it needs more a more direct connection to the sci-fi of the time. At this point, the only major 80's influence is the neon accents. I could possibly use more inspiration from the 70's with a little care, but I don't want to overdo anything.

    Day 3 (And beyond) Update!

Again, the images and links will be edited into the OP.

    Change notes:
    • Extended space scene to the forward grips, magazine, and rear grip.
    • Introduced a gradated grid pattern.
    • Changed some colors in the background.
    • Added some stars to the original star-field pattern.
I'll be submitting this version to the workshop. Though there may be a few minor tweaks and fixes, I think this design has gone as far as it can thematically. The only changes that are planned would be the painting of some currently unpainted parts.

    Edit:
Added workshop submission page to OP.
Looking forward to seeing what people have to say!
