G'day Mates,
I originally sketched this design a few months ago, but it was not
intended for a gun skin. It's just a simple alien egg with an 80's
inspired colour palette. As I lack a certain level of creativity, I think this is a good concept to start with.
Artwork here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/n5qq7dvox8f174b/BlisterDrawing.png?dl=0I just made a strong coffee, so I'm ready to get started on digitizing the drawing then implementing the design onto the 3d model of the Deagle handgun. I will keep everyone posted on it's progress.
Any support is greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Jester

So I've managed to trace an outline of the scanned image.
I then placed the layer with the outline over another layer which I then coloured and textured with fine hair details and shading.

My next task is to implement it on the 3d deagle model and then add surrounding artwork.

Hey Guys,
I've spent the last few hours mixing and matching patterns onto the 3d model and I've decided on a barrel pattern.
It's on a UV sheet and looks pretty cool (Well, I think it does anyway).

Something in relation to the contest rules that has me concerned is the theme. I realise this doesn't look anything like 80's sci-fi artwork so I've been experimenting with vibrant neon purples for a base layer. Hopefully it will work out.

Hey Guys,
So after playing around with the design elements of the original drawing, I decided on just keeping some basic pattern work and texturing instead of implementing the whole graphic.
It's now complete and can be accessed on the Steam Workshop.

If you like it, be sure to vote for it!
I will be working on other, better weapon finishes over the next few weeks.
But for now, goodbye.
