Hey everybody!

This is the WIP thread for my entry - feedback is much appreciated. The skin is inspired by the various skeleton themed sci-fi comic book covers in the 70s. This is the workshop link for the project:

I intend this skin to be part of the GoodGamer project. Should it win, 99% of the profit would go to scientifically evaluated, highly effective charities.

Acutally a very detailed skin but I don't like that the bones are spread over this weapon randomly. They should have a structure!

Thanks for your feedback, XVCENTURIONVX! My guiding thought for bone distribution was how I'd construct the gun from bones if I had to - like the bone gun in eXistenZ. So it's not entirely random, but perhaps it doesn't looks systematic enough. I'll think about it, thanks!

I don't really see what bones have in common with the 70's , 80's sci-fi, also looks randomly place, the white text bubble and the black text are out of place, you should not be adding any swear words either. It looks decent but could use a lot more refining.

It seems that skeletons have been a bit of a theme in 60s and 70s Sci-Fi comics. Once you think about it it's not that surprising either, space is a scary and dangerous place :-) The bones aren't entirely randomly placed, the main body has a rib cage as if it were an organism, then a sternum at the bottom, etc. They sort of mirror the structure of the gun. Regarding the swear word: do you think there is a policy against censored swear words? The point of the speech bubble is to highlight the comic character of it all - like the small dots from the printing process.

Does anyone know whether it's ok to use inspiration pictures for which one does not have the copyright in the presentation of the skin (like in this picture)? Or should I repaint the background myself?

I painted my own background for the presentation (obviously inspired by the original artwork).

I tweaked the values a bit and added a more interesting wear mask. I think I'm calling it done now. Any suggestions for last tweaks?
