Use this sbsar in substance painter to quickly apply wood textures to your models. Import into generators then apply a position map (settings all axis, bbox), and base color, normal, roughness, metallic and ao textures. The base substance has been submitted to substance share(pending approval). The built in wood American cherry substance works well for testing.
modelEdit: The sbs is up on
Substance share. For painter use this sbsar file (
Download) which has the material inputs exposed. I'll upload a new version in a week or two which has all of the inputs exposed.

One question : In Painter, what would be the proper settings to get a straight front axis projection (= along Z in SP) with a square ratio ? The closest I managed to get was a texture projected from the side (= along X) which also appears to be stretched horizontally. This was achieved by putting all inputs at 0 and setting Rotation X to 270, but that's not quite what I need ...
Maybe there is a room for a basic version of the tool, without wood-specific controls ? No grain, and so on.
Thanks !
[edit] I found this one and it looks promising, but still not quite the amount of controls I am looking for ...
