For practice, I've modeled a small sauna room, and I thought it would be interesting to light it in a stylized way. Using geometry with mila material with an emission layer, I've managed to light the scene from behind the wooden planks that form the room, like this:
However, I would ideally like for the material to be colored a light tan rather than being a blown-out white like this. Is it possible to do this in Maya? It seems that if I make an incandescent material, it cannot emit very much light before the material itself starts glowing a harsh white. Is there any way to get around this and have the material both be colored and give off a bright light?
