Hey, I'm about to texture a horse model I have just retopoligized, baked, etc. and I'm about to go into texturing, I'm not very used to making animals so I don't really know any tricks or anything like that. Does anyone have any tip on how you usually paint fur like that of a horse (not the mane and tail) in a realistic style as well as using PBR? I usually use substance painter.
I have looked quite a bit on the subject and so far have come up short in finding anything helpful. I looked into using an anisotropic specular but painting a flow map for it seems very convoluted and complex for something like a horse since from what I can tell there is no program that allows you to paint directly on a model, so if anyone knows anything about how I could make that work, that would be helpful as well.
