How do i make a mesh/object in maya not receive its own shadows, but still receive shadows from everything else? ( also want it to still cast shadows on other objects)
Im working on a 2d style film and wondering whats the best way to go about making the look character flat ( No shadows casting onto the model from the models own mesh.)but still be able to walk under shadows, as well as cast shadows.
Ive tried the attribute editor>render setting but thats not it.
I assume its a node thing, but i havent been able to google the right thing.
Any help would be great!

Do you have any concept or reference for what you are trying to achieve ?
