Hello I have a question about substance painter and designer. What is the difference between substance painter/ designer and zbrush's poly paint? Is it lot better to texture my 3d models in substance painter /designer?
zBrush Polypaint is limited to colors (mostly), while Substance Designer and Substance Painter paint full materials definition (multiple channels at once) which make your asset ready for rendering in any other applications. In modern renderer you need more than a height, normal or diffuse texture.
Zbrush's polypaint is also painting vertices, so if you have a low-poly mesh you won't be able to paint at any resolution you choose. Substance Painter paints textures so you can do any size you want/need.
