Alright, So. Trying to protect hard edges while remeshing an object.
Is there a way and if so how? I've tried remesher guides but they are less than perfect.

You can apply polygroups and use the 'keep groups' option and set the smooth option to zero. Polygroups will behave like smoothing group breaks.
