Hi, so as I said I am literally just getting into 3d modeling, after years of trying and failing. I have done sketchup work, but I can't really get the detail I want out of that program, so I took it upon myself to learn max.
I suck. I suck really bad.
But anyway, I'm trying to model the simplest thing I could think of that would count as a complete, legitimate model and I chose the Mac-10. I've attached pictures of my progress so far, which is very minimal. I'm still in the beginning stages. But that being said I'd really like critiques, advice, suggestions for topology, etc. Anything you guys have to offer I would appreciate and listen to.
Thanks

For starting models, I would suggest do a block out at first to get the big forms down. It isnt as necessary with this model because you have a side image plane. But without a front plane your model may look skewed, and it is easier to adjust and notice that with a low poly block out. Sort of like this....
Anywho, keep it up! I'm excited to see more
I really haven't gotten my head around how to block out appropriately, so I kinda avoid it. I imagine understanding it will come with forcing myself to do it sometimes.
But I actually do have a front plane, you just can't see it in the image I showed.
