Hi awesome people of polycount,. I would like to take my work to the next level. so I would love some feedback on the first handpainted model I did. Texture size 1024x1024 Tri count: 1000 Original concept:
whats quite fun is that it looks like it was painted with actual pencils and paper [which would be fun imagine printing your UVs and drawing/colouring them aha]
I like what you've got going so far! Very nice style to it. I think what would add to it is to paint in some lighting to make the materials more defined. For example adding some darker values to the undersides. I like the metal so far, I think making nice, pure white speculars on them would add a lot, just adding a small dash of white amongst all the rivets for example will give the lighting directionality which will help define the rest of the airship
ANOTHER CAVEMAN Thanks man haha I know it ain't the most cleanest of textures do have to work on that PURPLEKAMI thanks man:) Yeah I really have to get a better understanding of lighting and colors do you have any example of lighting on materials?

Here's a good example of lighting on both metal and cloth, notice how much the hues and values change? This will allow you do define the materials and distinguish them between each other.
I also suggest checking out this thread if you haven't already, it's got a ton of amazing resources you can dissect and study from: http://polycount.com/discussion/125954/show-your-hand-painted-stuff-pls/p1
You've got a very good base, you're at the polish step now that will really bring the magic to your zeppelin!
