Hi,
Started a new project :
Nävis: mission to TRI-JJ 768
I want to remake a scene of my favorite french comic book: Sillage by Philippe Buchet and Jean-David Morvan.
It's a scene where Nävis prepares her mission on the planet TRI-JJ 768. People on TRI-JJ 768 have a white skin whith black dots, therefore she uses a camouflage that also serves as translator with the People on TRI-JJ 768 .
Started from a basemesh and tried to get a semi realistic look. It's still in symmetry for retopo later on.

- The tibialis anterior muscle on her shin doesn't cover the tibia medially that much. Here are some examples I cropped from photos. Overpainted one with info, desaturated and adjusted brightness and contrast to pop details out on both of them. Remember also the division between the gastrocnemius and soleus muscles from this front view. It always depends from person to person how much certain muscles, bones and tendons are visible to us. On these examples, both women are equally developed, even though the lower photo shows more prominent tibialis anterior muscles.

- Even though using someone else's 3D work as a reference isn't advisable because it might contain mistakes, but I find Eugene Fokin's work so trustworthy, that I'll leave it here. So... I find the neck area of your character somewhat confusing, but I like those visible clavicles. Eugene's work shows clearly how straightforwad neck muscles should be:

Also, remember that sternocleidomastoid originates its main muscle bodies from the manubrium and secondary, and bit thinner muscle bodies from the medial portion of clavicle, all the way to the back of the head - mastoid process.

- Her eyes look like they're not part of the rest of the body anatomy. Maybe just because they're slightly too big. So, maybe making them smaller may help. Facial anatomy is something that I'm still learning, so I can't give any specific crits for there. Looks okay so far. Keep at it!
EDIT: Oh, and maybe raising her arms to a 45 degree t-pose would also help easing the armpit area for future retopology and such.

RED = deltoid
WHITE = tendon of the posterior deltoid starts when muscle fibers end with that round belly shape.
PURPLE = infraspinatus
GREEN = teres major
BLUE = serratus anterior
Someone even wiser can correct me if something is wrong, but yeah.
Will work some more on the model.
As for the face, Nävis got different faces in the different comics. So I took as reference the one in my reference image. As it's from a comics her eyes are a litle bit bigger, so I try to mix that with some convincing anatomy. Still have to work it out. I want to achieve that semi realistic look, like it's from a comics, but still looks real.
Any feedback is welcome
Here is another wip of my Naïvis sculpt.
These are just screengrabs from keyshot.
Still need to fix some things like the eyes.
Not shure yet what pedestal I'll do.
Looking forward to more!
