Notification Spam in WAYWO

It would be good if we can fix the problem with posting in threads like the WAYWO that will keep your notifications spammed for weeks and pretty much break one of the most important features of the site.
Or is there some "unsubscribe from thread" or something that I am missing ?

(Having the portfolio link back below the user avatar would be very helpful too regarding forum features.)

Is there currently a way to remove the thread subscription without turning it all off ?

Yep, agreed. I'll add these to the wishlist items.

In the meantime here's how I avoid the ton of WAYWO notifications. 



The only drag with this setup is having to manually hit the "Add to Favorites" button whenever I want notifications from threads I post in.

I wish there was an option for "automatically favorite any threads I participate in", which would add new threads to my favorites, but let me de-favorite the ones I don't want emails from, like the WAYWOs.

If you go to the thread, you should be able to find a button up the top of it that says "remove from favorites". That should take it out of your notifications, if WAYWO is the only one you want to remove.
Edit: Maybe I'm way off though, they might be separate systems. Which is kinda

I wish all threads would just give one notification when there is new posts, until you look at that thread again.

Maybe a button when posting that enables notifications for the thread and is automatically checked ? Ive seen various forums use this.
There is a lot of free space on the left of the save reply button.

ZACDs solution sounds pretty good but you always had this "1 new mail" thing still

Agreed with said above, also the "<1+> New" next to each thread does get a bit annoying after a while.  I enjoyed the color changing of the thread to symbolize there was new content since last viewing of thread.  Also adds a bit more color to the currently very bland thread display pages, we need more greeeeeen!
