Hey Polycount, I'm working on another pack for the Unreal Marketplace, this time it's a pack of melee weapons. I'll update the post as I wrap up each of the three weapons. Let me know what you guys think!
The first weapon I've finished is a one handed war axe. It's sitting right at 6k triangles for LOD0. Modeled this dude in Modo and ZBrush, generated some extra maps in Knald, and slapped the textures on in PS with Quixel SUITE 2.

i think you can get away without having the carvings in the wood modeled into the low poly, from almost all angles the silhouette change is un-noticeable. I'd say the same for the leather strapping.
Textures are looking good though. Good job!
I figured since this is going to target a wide-ish audience on the Marketplace, this LOD0 could be for first person games, in which the extra geo does go a long ways. In the more simplified LODs, which could also be used as primary models in a 3rd person game, the geo is dramatically simplified and relies on totally baked in detail for those areas. When I get some of the other weapons posted up, I'll include LOD shots.
