This is my last project and my first environment stuff. Lots of work, modeling, sculpting, texturing, researching and learning.
Lately I´ve been playing around with different sculpting workflows involving rocks, wood, cliffs, terrains and so on, things I´ve never focus on before and found that they are pretty difficult to make them look right. Along with that, I´ve been following gnomon´s "tree with maya´s paint effects" course, and trying to put my hands on plant and tree modeling/shading. So, after a while decided to put all that together in a final image and see if it could fit what I have learned in an actual project.
For the image I wanted a kind of anime background look but in cg. Not quite a painterly look but that kind of glow, warmness, colours etc.
And so here is the result for now. Don´t think it´s finished yet, but I´d love to hear your insights and critiqs as after a while working on it, I can´t see it with fresh eyes and objective distance.
