Some of the concept art for this re-imagining of the 1994 classic looked questionable but the content in this 2 minute taster is solid enough. I'm reasonably excited about how this could turn out.
Looks interesting, I never played system shock one, only two, but the combat looks a bit easy. I remember in SS2 being scared and wary of any enemy - i wouldn't just walk up to a robot and hit it with a pipe like that - I'd get obliterated.
I have watched the trailer unhealthy amount of times. Sometimes I watch it on my second monitor while I work. It's nothing special but grabs me in some major way and inspires me. Will back it or buy day 1.
I've been in love with SS1 ever since playing it just after I got my first PC in 1997. I've often chatted with fellow devs about doing exactly this - updating the content for modern machines - but never had the time. Anyway, looks like Night Dive have the right spirit going into this and if it grows interest and respect for what the guys at Looking Glass achieved back then - I'll be happy.
Never played System Shock 1 (don't know if I had a PC at the time), but I jumped into the the Vertical Slice. It's fairly solid, I think some of the environment art could be spruced up a bit but that's what some of the Kickstarter money will go to right? It's great they already have systems and a working game in place. I might actually give them some money.
This one is close to my heart as the CEO of Nightdive is a close friend. I already backed and I know he will knock this out of the park so if you have doubts, erase them! Go support the kickstarter! Ok, done with my shpeal...
I've only played System Shock 2 but Shodan is my most favorite villain from any game I've played and I'm so stoked they got the same VO artist to reprise the role for the remake.
I never really played the first one. I was more a die-hard SS2 fan, but I downloaded the short demo they made and checked it out. Super awesome. I'll probably back after payday.
They've done it! $900,000 starting goal met with 19 days left. Nice! The thank you email from Nightdive CEO Stephen Kick was great - he has a real passion for the game.

There's also a fully playable 'Vertical Slice' game-play demo download available there. A very shrewd move by Nightdive.
I really like the look and feel of this.
I grew up playing SS1 - it's what got me into games and into the job I have now. Kickstarted that project without a second thought.
