M4A1 Assault Rifle 3D Model

Hi all,
So I wanted to know what you all thought about this M4A1 Assault Rifle that I modeled. Does it look good, or does it need some more work or improvements on it?

In case anyone is wondering which 3D software I used, I modeled this in Maya.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The scene BG being black really has poor lighting and its impossible to see the shape especially since the weapon is black as well

Is this real time? I would definitely try showing this in a game engine (Unreal 4, Marmoset, Unity etc).

@JordanN : No it's not in real time right now, this is rendered in Maya.

Does it matter if it's rendered in real time, depending on if you are modeling for console/PC or mobile games?

Also I can go ahead and put it into Unreal 4 or Marmoset and render it from there

Ît looks good but yes please show it with a different background because it's easier to see. Some parts of the texture look pixelated to me, maybe just the jpeg compression...

Yeah dude it does^^ the difference between renders for movies or cinematics is that it doesnt matter how much time it takes to render each frame. In real time rendering you need atleast around 30 frames per second. So that you are actually able to play the game and it responds.

The background colour is way too dark in comparison to the weapon, which has darker parts. It's difficult to judge the scale and overall shape.

I agree with Jordann: instead of rendering in Maya; import everything over into Marmoset or a game engine like Unity 5 or Unreal 4.
