hey guys, so i'm a concept artist and a bit new to 3d.
i'm trying to make this render of a 3d scene in modo and then paint on top of it.
but there is too much noise in the render for me to overpaint.
i watched a tutorial from vaughan ling and used the same settings as him but his render is pretty clean and mine isn't.
i let the preview render go for 15 hours and still didn't get the result i wanted, its probably just some wrong settings.
so i was hoping one of you could help me out.

I can't help with your problem, but using a jpg will make it more likely for someone else to offer their help.
Good luck!

Try raising the anti-aliasing to 1024, lower the refinement threshold/shading rate to 0.1 and bounces to 6 (to save time) and Light samples up to 128
If it was time sensitive and you weren't just learning, I would just fix it in Photoshop or any other program capable of noise reduction, attach the noise reduction to a mask and paint it only into area's where it's distracting, you'll be done in 10 minutes.
• Use sharper reflections if possible.
• Use IC for secondary bounces, you can use more bounces with it (4-6).
• Do not use emmisive mats as your main source of light, it's very slow and inefficient. Instead light everything directly with area/spot lights.
• If nothing helps use another renderer :>
