I've recently started my next personal project, an environment in the style of Ratchet and Clank. Included in that environment would be Aphelion. I started there. This is my low poly version. I just finished it. So, I haven't started cutting out polygons, if I even need to(let me know if I should). With everything included, it sits at about 5,452 polygons(10,316 triangles). There are a couple of things I need to tweak and clean up on the low poly but I would like to get some input.
I have a low poly version of what I'm calling Ratchet's Hangar put together in UE4. The ship I'm still working on but put it to the side so I could put the room together. Playing through Ratchet and Clank on PS4, I took a lot of screenshots and used them as reference material for my own map.
It isn't much, I have some items not yet placed, wiring and cable will be placed via the Spline system UE4 has, any critique I receive here, I'll take and improve upon what I already have. The Aphelion in the images above will be placed once I redo the wings and clean up the mesh.
I've recently finished up modeling out the bolt crate infamously destroyed countless times throughout the Ratchet and Clank universe. Using screenshots from the PS4 iteration, after some trial and error I was able to come up with these renders. For some reason, I'm getting a Fail Code 6 when I export the SBSAR file, was going to use Toolbag but for now the SD Renders work well enough.
I'm currently working with Shadow Demon Entertainment and building materials and environment for their first game. This is a wood material I've put together both a clean version and an aged version to be used. Critique is welcome.
I've been jumping back and forth on projects. Made some huge strides over the past couple of weeks with my Ratchet and Clank themed environment. I still have a lot to do yet. The third and fourth photos are variations of the Substance material I put together to add a little more yellow into the scene. Critique is welcome.
Much needed update. The crates I'll probably scale up a bit, they feel a bit small for the environment. I'm happy with the direction it's going. Still needs work. I'm up for any critique. Lighting isn't final, just turned up a bit so I can see everything well enough as I place them.
An update to my WIP environment. I put it on hold to focus on a game demo. I've come across a little bit a of free time in the mornings and I've messed with it some more. The lighting is a little darker than expected but it works for the time being.
