The goal is to make a tiny tiny scene, with just some essentials such as shrubbery, rocks, a tree, a prop, etc.
I hope to make some nice models without going too in depth, unwrap them nicely and make some kick ass (cough) handpainted textures!
Here are some of the first 2D sketches before I go for the basic blockout!
Final design (probably, still have to test it in 3D)
Thanks for any feedback!

Goodluck on the 3D, can't wait to see more!
Here is my first block out!
At the moment I have NO idea how thick I want to make my tree and roots ... and how many roots to model! dont wanna go over the top, but dont want it to feel too empty!
Something like this maybe. Hope it helps and good luck!
Here are some of the latest wips, I almost ready to unwrap, just have to decide how I am going to the crown/branches and if I am going to put any bushes/grass in the scene.

Starting to look really cool! keep it up.
Looking forward to the textures!
I have NO idea how I am ever going to make nice looking rocks (right now its just a singular color of course).
Spend some time on the bark, its not entirely where I would like it to be, but I have learned some fun techniques while doing it.
Still dodging the rocks and wishing I could just delete them instead of paint them haha.
Therefore, it might be better to paint a lot of the lighting in and rely less on actual lighting. Like for instance on top of the tree, a lot of the creases get lighter, because of your lighting. It would be nice if they stayed darker.
Then for the shadows, if you paint those in aswell, or atleast a general AO, you can add some color temperature. On the left, I made the shadows colder en the highlights warmer. It's just an example and you can leave it out though.
Keep it up!
I dont know if I will have enough time paint in a lot of light information thats why I went with the strong light but you are right
it will start feeling really flat if I am not careful.
