Hi Polycount,
I frequently browse around looking at all of the amazing art people come up with and I'd like to get into it myself. I've attempted a few things in the past but never completed a model, always coming up on a hitch. I think it's time I see one through until the end.
I found a piece of art that I really liked and started modeling in blender. Here is the concept:
Since it's not a front and side view I had to do some guess work as well as find other references for the shapes I wanted. This is what I have so far:
This was all done in blender. I want to get the model down before I start to add textures. Any help/advice/critique is much appreciated!

Arm patches look like a cube block of wood. I'd make them a little more organic/cloth like.
So I changed the shoulders and I attempted rigging and posing. The rig wasn't very good, I'll need to learn how to rig properly as you can see in the hands and tail. I'm happy with this project considering it's my first model. Next up I'd like to push it a little further with more detail. I also need to work on my hands in general. I'll also try having the render done by Unity, since that's the end goal. Any more advice I'll take into consideration for my next project.
Thanks for the help, Dpadam. I really appreciate it
