Fleshing out the details on the armor now. I'm referencing Moorish architecture for my culture kit, imagining that the beast would have custom armor forged for him, befitting of a guard you might find protecting a princess.
I think A or B for me, C looks more like a gem or something and I think your missing out on the whole cyclops part. this is just personal opinion, but if your making a cyclops, the eye is really the big unique thing, so I would really focus on making that a main focal point of the character.
I've been forcing myself to use zmodeler as much as I can for the base shapes in order to learn it. I like it for the most part, but spinning edges seem to crash consistently. Anyone else use zmodeler much?
I'm currently thinking about going more stylized with the texture painting, ala Heroes of The Storm, instead of worrying about cramming in micro details into the sculpt, in hopes of saving time and making the deadline.
I agree with @fantasymaster comment. Having PBR shaders and some texture to break up how clean it is will really give your character the pop it needs. I can't wait to see what you do with the pose and pedestal. Good luck!
The Cyclops of the Royal Guard was chosen to protect the Princess from all manner of dire threats. The queen would not allow anyone or anything, less than the most formidable warriors, protect her daughter. So it was to be, that the King sent his best men to convince the beast that his life was better off serving the needs of the kingdom rather than to live in the mountain regions, hoarding treasures of no real value to a creature. The beast agreed on the condition that only he guard the Princess, and no one else. And so it was.

Yeah, I need to play with some variations on the eye for sure, but maybe a solid black look would be cool.
