Hey there I was just wondering why do we never see any art made for GTA/Max Payne/ RDR by the 3d / 2d artists from Rockstar Games? Is it forbidden? Anyone ever worked there? How is it?
The guy who did James Marsden had to literally just find screenshots online for his folio...so yea, it does make it kind of a pain if you leave and are asked to prove you did the work. Still, I'm sure just saying you worked on GTA or Red Dead is quite the accomplishment in itself.
I have friends who worked there. They are SUPER against taking in game screen shots. You can't even plug in a thumb drive to the computers. A lot of secrecy. I think near the end of RDR they even forbid using Youtube and blocked a bunch of sites.
I dunno, most of my friends have a lot of bad things to say about Rockstar SD. I dunno how it is now, though. I am pretty sure they are working on RDR 2, though. At least last i heard.
Non-disclosure agreements are pretty standard in the industry though. Often I have gotten a company to add a clause in my contract to allow portfolio use. I've never had the chance to work with them, but I don't see R* budging on their policy, if ever. Too bad, so much great workflow discovery there

Really interesting.
I was actually about to post it, but can't find any art drops except that technical breakdown.
RDR art dump would be greatly appreciated!
Good call!

I would love to see a few leaked breakdowns someday aha!
Interviewed ? What is your job if I may ask?
They're really good, but you're right! There isn't any of their professional work shown in their folios.
