Some Data:
-Character contains 99830 tris (59054 body + 40776 fur).
-The pedestal including all parts and effects contains 4999 tris.
-It uses 3x4k and 4x2k maps for the body.
-And 3x1k and 4x512 maps for the pedestal.
I am using 1 texture sheet for the body and another one for the pedestal. The effects are part of the pedestal.
Tools used: Zbrush, Photoshop, 3dsmax, Blender, Substance Painter, Marmoset Toolbag2
This was a really fun project

Start of Wip;
Hi guys,
Here is some WIP so far.
Here is the story i am starting with.
Story: A man and his fiancee who both live
together in the nearby village, go into the forest to complete a
secret healing ritual. The ritual was supposed to strengthen the
weakend state of the man. But in the process something goes wrong
and the beautiful woman becomes the catalyst for a transformation of
her man. Instead of just regaining his normal physical state, he
becomes a beast instead. Packed with deformed limbs unable to be
recognized. Only a burned shadow on the ground is left of the past
away beauty.

good start!
Next thing planned is to make some final changes on the highpoly and go over to the lowpoly, uving, plane based fur, object groups and then texturing. Rigging and posing usually can be done seperately, after the lowpoly is done.
Texturing will be done for the most part with Substance Painter and a bit photoshop.

I actually changed up some portions a little after making this render, so the final thing looks slightly different.
Afterwards i did the low poly version and baked the additional maps in substance painter:
Now i am mostly working on the texturing of the character. Also putting on the plane based fur.
