I know it's been forever since I've posted a work in progress for a portfolio piece, but I've been a little tied down. I saw this character concept, and I was very impressed with this sci-fi version of Red Riding Hood. The back story blew me away even more, as it was a sci-fi take on the classic tale. Here is the concept art:

she doesnt have that " iv seen a ghost " look in her eyes anymore
although i still feel like you could bring the top eyelid down a little .

as for the mouth a quick touch that i feel would make much difference is to grab the dam standard brush and poke the corner of the mouth
also from what i can see the bottom lip seem to be in front of the top lip " away from the face " which is not appealing .
a good rule would be :
keep at it man
You're right, bringing the upper eyelids down to avoid that "HUH!" look makes a huge difference.
