Hey guys one of my tasks for my current project is to create background mountains. Similar to this

I intend to use World Machine to buy the mountains and try to retopologize in Maya using its tools. Is there a better approach to this? Also whats the pipeline for creating suitable UV's for baking normal maps or just general textures on it? I know you can use a splatmap from WM to determine specific textures but how would it work if i retopologize for LOD system.

Or you could reduce the lods manually, just make sure you don't mess the uvs up.
