I've decided to start a game in Unreal. I am making this thread so I can receive feedback and improve it.
Story of Alex and Claire on their way to the Crystal that can bring people back to life.
Gameplay
Main concept is that we have 2 characters - one who fights the baddies and his sidekick - a ghost girl (*) and they have different abilities and roles in the game. Alex's weapons are a baseball bat (melee) and a shotgun (range), Claire is partially his medic and partially his guide (in terms of passing through walls and reaching key puzzle features that are unavailable for Alex).
Gameplay modes are action and puzzle and every level has its own configuration of the two: in terms of reaching the end of the level you have to pass the puzzle part and kill everyone in your way.
Artstyle
Low poly landscapes and brutalist architecture. Spacey overall feel of the landscape in combination with neutral/cold assets.
* this here is a plot hole. If you have any suggestions on who Claire is, why is she a ghost and why is she attached to our main character, let me know, Id be glad to implement them.

I think it's pretty self explanatory, maybe the difference is that there will be constant switching between characters so that will be visualized in the bottom left corner.
Design of the GUI is as minimalistic as it can be (while staying readable) . Potion icon is will be transformed with the time for which its active. Inventory on the right side will have both an icon and a counter for the coins and crystals obtained so far. The bigger crystal icon will only glow when you are near the final crystal.

I've also given him some weapons - a shotgun and a bat. More WIP renders and a prototype build to come!
I'm now wrapping up my prototype after a small pause caused by my computer breaking down. All good now.
After this: Combat animations, here I come!
Basic character BPs, tiling manager and switching between characters.
Got the basic UI done: Health bar, Shield bar, Ammo, Crystal and Coin counters.
Next up: Start/pause menu and pick-ups!
All basic mechanics are finished besides that my projectiles refuse to follow my cursor.

Most of the gameplay elements are done. The only thing that's left now is the teleport.
