[WIP] Star Wars Ep.7 Fan Art - TR8R Z6 Baton

So, I've thought about making a Star Wars fan art a while back. I originally wanted to make something from Battlefront or Rey's Speeder in Ep.7, but this came to mind. I haven't seen much of this one made as far as the Z6 Baton, or tonfa weapon, from the movie. The goal is to use 3DCoat on this piece, either retopo, UV editing, or painting. I'm trying to get familiar with 3DCoat more. Depending how this piece will go, it might be mostly clean with some dirt/rust on it. An optional piece I might do would be the shield that he had with him.

Here's an update on this piece, haven't posted on it since I started this thread. I have the buttons and red light LED’s as floating geo at the moment. I was trying to figure how the guards would slide out.
EDIT: It rotates instead, going to change that.
Small update on this one. made the edges tighter. Changed the insides so now it will rotate, and the smaller bars are there to lock the sides. I based it slightly from the toy. I might push the bases of the bars further.
