Latest Update 04/10/2016:
Note: Angle is off due to perspective vs orthographic
---------------------------------------
I'm not much of an original concept type of fellow. I do however play a bit of MTG and know of a creature that would be perfect for this competition.
Let me introduce you to Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger
Fully embodying the term "beast" and a natural green bomb at 8cmc, this 7/6 Trampler loves to eat! Giving you one additional mana every time you tap a land while refusing to share his benefits with your opponents; they are effectively starved of mana going forward!
A social darwinist, he wishes to model Phyrexia as a place hostile to sentience (which he despises) and based on the roles of predator and prey, of which only the strongest will survive.
Nothing is more beautiful than power. Going so far as to reconstruct other beings in his own perfect predator image.
He's depicted differently in each piece of art. So I'll be doing a bit of tweaking depending which aspects I think are the most interesting.

Originally I was going to go with more of a hard surface character, but I feel this concept fits my idea of a "beast" too well to not be done.

Going to be hard surface modeling as much as I can before taking it into zbrush for smaller details.
Wip update on the skull and arm , still working on fixing the pinching
Updated the overall shape, the geo is much cleaner now. Block in some cards where the hair will be covering. Next update will include the full torso and legs!
Have the main shapes blocked in and in the correct perspective. Going to clean up the rest of the model, add in the back of it by the weekend and do some sculpting. I'm going to mirror the limbs and repose after the sculpting. Legs and Arms will share their mirrored counterparts as far as UVs go.
Testing out UVs/Baking/Iray in substance painter.
Going to adjust pose and figure out grid hairs next. He's a skinny skeleton without his hair.
Starting out to give it some texture love. Really never dealt with hair before so this bit of an extension is really going to help.
