Art Dump: Ashes of the Singularity

Hi All,

Exis has had the pleasure of working with Oxide and Stardock on the upcoming ashes of the singularity. It's a large scale RTS where you control some pretty awesome units and factions.  I recommend you check the game out:  www.ashesofthesingularity.com

These models look great! Is it possible to show more technical breakdowns like Lods, wireframes, and texture resolutions? For example what is the budget on a smaller unit and so forth. I understand if you can´t post any of that, but good job on the game none the less.

Hi Victor, to give you an idea regarding the counts you asked for I've posted the image below. With respect to textures, the guys at oxide have done some pretty incredible things. The models don't use the standard textures you'd imagine, most of them are made up of like over 20 textures. And they have systems in place that let the models take real damage and wear & tear, it's a pretty advanced system, and  super detailed for an RTS.

I`m interesting in this as well, very nice hardsurface but those panels on curvy surface looks awesome.

It's SubD on some, Zbrush on others. We didn't use any floating geo.

Our good friends have released Ashes of the Singularity and if you like RTS games like Supreme Commander, this is a game you should definitely pick up.

Awsome work, do you guys use diferent format files on ashes models?
I mean is it possible use a external unit or build and convert to ashes format?
Ty for the help now i can use that script on 3d Studio and use it for all the models.

We handed off the raw files to the client, so they did all the importing. We don't know what formats were used unfortunately.
