Decent start. I like the approach you are taking with the skin. Watch the anatomy, a few things are sliding away from believable, the leg in particular. Keep the right number of joints in the leg. Looks like you have one extra in there. Don't be afraid to look at animal anatomy as examples of what a leg should look like. It'll help in the long run. I think proportionally the head may be a little over-sized. Looks like a guy in a mask, instead of a creature's head. Try and keep the proportions believable and the beast will look way better. Have another pass at the loin cloth as well, I don't think it reads as fabric at the moment. T.

Update 1: I'm blocking out the shape of the head first, finally got something I was comfortable with before proceeding with the body.
I am still deciding if I should make the masked area more fleshy like or give it a harder, beak like look
