I'm working on a strategy project and we use 3D to render image sequences for animation. For the purposes of optimisation I have to render only animated parts of an object. I use Crop render mode in Render Settings but this way I have to manually resize the desired region and I don't see how to make it more accurate. Besides, sometimes when I get a desired resolution (64x64,128x128...) and press Render I end up with images that are 1 pixel wider or higher. I guess it's a 3ds Max bug...
Anyway, I wonder if this is the way people make sequences for 2d games or I'm doind it wrong?
