Ledimu
Hey everyone this is my entry for the contest, i am from South Africa and i decided to use one of the giants from the Sotho culture lore known as Ledimu. I used Zbrush to block in the characters and just added basic textures on the surface with no colour, then hopped to photoshop and began using a single pass as a base and focused on the values before hooking up colors.
-THE STORY-
in some stories they have been known to consume humans and dwell in mountains and they have also been known to play tricks on wanderers in order to catch and eat them. This one is quite different, he has found unusual companionship in this girl who keeps telling her stories from her village, this giant is old and cannot leave his cave without causing it to collapse. Not only does she do that but she brings him food as well.
