Hi all,
this is my entry for this contest.
I want to create an alternative version of the beast based on the original story. In particular I will use as references the movie La belle e la bete (2014) and the magnificent Italian armourer Filippo Negroli.
Hope to do a good work.

this are some images of my WIP.
This is a little step by step of how I create the thornbush gorget. I create a mesh that follow the idea that I have in mind, then I mask the mesh drawing a thornbush and extract it as a separate mesh.
The idea is to sculpt a doe in the middle of the top part of the breastplate. the horns of the doe grows and turns into a thornbush gorget.
frontal and back views of the gorget.
I'm not totally sure of this design. Probably It will change in the next day.
then I'm going to use Zbrush to polish a bit the main shape and adding some details.
I don't know if I'm going to use a different material for the cameo on the middle of the breadstplate or use the same metal. lets see what comes in my mind.
I will put other details on the protection for the arms: a doe on one side and a arrow on the other. I want to try to use the armour to tells the story of what happened when the prince was transformed into beast.
The top part of the pants just an early draft version.
I also add the final bas-relief on the protection of the arms. This elements, with the bas-relief of the breastplate tells the story of the reason of the transformation of our prince.
The golden doe on the right arm:
and the golden arrow that cross a symbolic rose on the left arm.
Fantasymaster: sure! why should I don't do it?
I finish the design of the boots:
then a close-upo on the beasty hands:
and another close-up on the lace and the inner part of the gauntlets:
Fourth and (i hope) last version of the shoulder protections:
and last a total view:
Now is time to texturize all of this...
Did you add the detail to the cape in Zbrush by using a tiling alpha with noisemaker? Looks great
@llRobinll: Hi, I create the cape in marvelous designer, than I use the Zbrush noisemaker with a tiling alpha (as you said) to mask the cape. In a second time I used the stitch1 brush with another alpha that I create to get this embroidered effect.
@Pshyco thanks, but are all 2k textures!
@Enalya I know that there are some weird stuff in the boots. I begin with an idea and then I change my mind a couple of time so, something not fixed still remain. I will rework some parts on the posing stage.
Now is time to break the Tpose..
Now I'm workig on some tweaking for the beard and probably I have to change the main color of the head and the hair because now mix too much with the color of the clothes.
