VR demo for UE4 - WIP

Been working on a VR demo for my portfolio on and off since 2011. Originally it was made for UDK and my crappy Vuzix HMD in mind but now I'm continuing work on all the assets to be ported to UE4, as release is drawing near for the Oculus Rift I felt compelled to resume work on it.

The demo is set on an alien planet where you've become stranded.

The current version of the environment as built at 4096x4096 resolution in World Machine.


I needed to make a macro that intersects two heightfields which would be useful for beaches where there's a smooth transition between soil but rock faces would look like they're sunken into the ground.


A nasty creature that's one of the inhabitants of the environment.

I'm still working on the landscape trying to make areas close to the ocean look good among a number of things, but I think I'm getting pretty close to being finished with it so I can build the final version and move on to editing the resulting maps.
